US, Israel represent greatest threat to survival of humanity

Mike Ferner, the former national director of Veterans for Peace, said in an interview with the Press TV website that the Israeli regime is emboldened by Western support to carry out acts of aggression, such as the recent one against Iran.

“We saw that when Trump allegedly told Netanyahu to turn Israel's fighter jets back around,” he said, referring to the recent 12-day Israeli-American war of aggression against the Islamic Republic, which led to the martyrdom of nearly 1,000 Iranians.

“The United States could end all of this tomorrow if it wanted to...but as the #1 weapons dealer and mass murderer, it does not want to end its wars...because war is profitable.”

Ferner added that the US government has been “hijacked by fascists and fascism.”

“The war machine is one arm of fascism that is overdue in being cut off. The United States and its allies have become the Axis of Evil of the 21st century,” he stated.

Commenting on the subservience of international organizations—including the United Nations—to the US, and the brazen violation of international law by successive governments in Washington, the veteran anti-war activist said those in power are beholden to “money, greed, selfishness and corporate donors,” while governments and organizations around the world are held captive by the same forces out of fear.

“What I feel the other countries of the world should be asking themselves is what they should be doing to stop the United States and Israel, knowing that they are the new Axis of Evil and should act accordingly,” he said.

“And to put that into actionable terms — Boycott American and Israeli goods. Period. Money is the Empire's lifeblood.”

On why the US has allowed itself to be hijacked by the Israeli regime—evident in the way it intervened in the war against Iran in the middle of nuclear diplomacy between Tehran and Washington—the activist, who was awarded the 2025 Joe A. Callaway Award for his activism, said politics is “mere theatre.”

“The United States has had Iran in its sights for a long while now. But make no mistake, Trump illegally went around Congress to launch this strike and that's an impeachable offense...and he should be impeached,” Ferner told the Press TV website.

He hastened to add that people around the world should understand how dangerous these two war criminals are—Trump and Netanyahu—and how unwilling they will be to relinquish power at the risk of being held accountable for their mass murderous war crimes.

“In short, the greatest threat to the survival of humanity are the United States, Israel and their allies. And the threat needs to be dealt with immediately. Boycott Israel and the United States like it's our full-time job...for the future of humanity.”
