Imam Hussein (AS): A Legacy for All Humanity and Continuation of the Prophet’s Path

In his interview with Taghrib, Mamusta Omari stated: “Imam Hussein (AS) is a symbol of freedom and resistance against oppression. He is the master of martyrs—someone who sacrificed his life and wealth to revive the religion of his grandfather, the Prophet of Islam (PBUH).”
He emphasized that the path chosen by Imam Hussein (AS) was the very path of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), which is why people from all Islamic sects and even other faiths are drawn to his legacy.
“Today, we witness followers from various religious backgrounds visiting his shrine, united in love and reverence for his sacrifice.”
Mamusta Omari continued: “Imam Hussein (AS) is a beacon for all humanity. His stand against tyranny and his commitment to enjoining good and forbidding evil reflect the core values of Islam. He gave everything he had for the sake of truth and righteousness.”
Quoting the Holy Qur’an, he added: “God Almighty commands that there should be a group among you who call others to goodness, enjoin what is right, and forbid what is wrong—these are the ones who will prosper. In another verse, God says: ‘You are the best nation brought forth for mankind—you enjoin what is right, forbid what is wrong, and believe in God with knowledge, sincerity, and truth.’”
In conclusion, Mamusta Omari stressed: “Imam Hussein (AS) followed in the footsteps of his grandfather and was martyred in that path. We must take him as a role model and remain steadfast in living by his principles. If we do so sincerely, we may be granted his intercession and not be ashamed before him on the Day of Judgment.”
