Cleric: Strategy of Hope in School of Imam Hasan al-Askari Offers a Blueprint for Overcoming Today’s Crises

Khorshidi noted that Imam al-Askari consistently advised his followers to uphold four foundational principles: unity, piety, patience, and anticipation. These four keywords, he said, form a practical framework of hope within the Ahl al-Bayt tradition, each playing a vital role in preserving social cohesion and cultural resilience.

Expanding on these principles, Khorshidi explained: “Unity rescues society from fragmentation and weakness; piety serves as an inner shield against despair; patience is a temporal bridge from crisis to relief; and anticipation transforms the present into a platform for preparing a brighter future.”
He stressed that hope in the school of Imam al-Askari is not merely an emotion or mental skill—it is a deliberate, intelligent, and socially active force shaped by ethical training, organizational vision, and a Mahdist outlook. “This perspective,” he said, “can serve as a guiding light in today’s world, where we face narrative warfare, media pressure, and widespread sanctions.”
Referring to the historical experience of “Askari-style living” under surveillance and restriction, Khorshidi remarked: “Imam al-Askari showed that even under the tightest constraints, great ideas can survive and flourish. Today, if we wish to stand firm against the global arrogance of modern-day Askari oppression, we must rely on the capital of hope, patience, and proper anticipation of divine relief to pursue the path toward ultimate victory.”
