Speaking to Taqrib News Agency(TNA), he stated that scholars must actively promote shared religious values, emphasize the Qur’an and Sunnah, and counter ethnic and sectarian divisions to preserve the spirit of unity.

While the influence of religious institutions over governments has declined in many Muslim countries, Hassam noted that in pivotal moments, the voice of scholars still shapes public opinion and guides states toward unifying decisions.
He highlighted the prophetic model of resistance and homeland defense, stating: “The life of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is filled with clear examples of standing against aggression and defending the dignity of the Ummah. The battles of Badr, Uhud, and Khandaq all affirm that protecting one’s land is a religious duty. The Prophet was not only a military leader—he instilled the spirit of resistance in his companions.”
Hassam acknowledged that many scholars have failed to adequately convey the importance of resistance to younger generations. “We must revisit and regenerate the defensive-jihadi discourse in contemporary language and thought,” he urged.
He further emphasized that the Prophet’s legacy is rooted in justice, recalling how the Prophet stood firm against the oppressive elites of Quraysh and built principles of justice beyond tribal and ethnic boundaries. “Today, the Islamic Ummah must draw inspiration from these teachings to confront modern colonialism and the occupation of lands—especially Palestine. Prophetic justice teaches us that fighting oppression is a universal and moral obligation, not merely a political choice.” Strategic Deadlock of the Zionist Regime
Commenting on the recent threats and attacks by the Zionist regime against Iran, including the targeting of the country’s highest religious authority, Hassam described these actions as signs of strategic failure. “Such threats stem not from strength, but from fear and desperation,” he said.
He stressed that threatening Iran’s Supreme Leader is, in essence, a threat to the nation’s stability and independence. “Experience has shown that these threats do not intimidate the Iranian people. Instead, they strengthen internal unity and regional support for the resistance axis.”
Hassam concluded: “History has proven that assassinating leaders never kills ideas or movements. On the contrary, it deepens their roots and expands their global reach.”
