Realizing and strengthening unity and proximity in Islamic society was among the goals of Imam Khomeini
Sheikh Mohammad Saleh Ansari, director of the Imam Shafi'i Religious-Cultural Complex of Sunni Muslims in Evaz, spoke to the Taghrib News Agency. Offering condolences on the anniversary of the passing of the founder of the Islamic Revolution, Imam Khomeini (RA), and emphasizing adherence to the conduct of the Imam Khomeini, he stated: "As we see in the book 'Sahifeh-ye Imam' (the Imam's collection of speeches and writings), he was a deeply thoughtful and unity-oriented person. Through unity-creating matters, he dismantled the situation of the tyrants, oppression, and injustice, and by highlighting the commonalities in Islam, he advanced this blessed and victorious movement."

Sheikh Ansari stated: "Throughout his life, Imam Khomeini (RA) emphasized the issue of unity and rapprochement, and in his statements, he took into account matters that create unity. The general issues he raised were the major and overarching issues of the Islamic world."

This Sunni scholar said: "The advice is that the followers of Imam Khomeini must distance themselves from stereotypical issues that cause discord, because the Holy Quran has also affirmed this and said: 'O people! Say: There is no god but Allah, and you will be successful.'"

He said: "The issue of unity and rapprochement is among the most key issues of the Islamic world, which Imam Khomeini (RA) addressed well. In fact, unity was the main factor in the victory of the Islamic Revolution and the thought of Imam Khomeini."

In conclusion, he emphasized: "The conduct and movement of Imam Khomeini  were derived from divine commands and the conduct of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). He had not only dedicated his life to God Almighty, but always and in every field, he sought God's satisfaction in the affairs of Islamic societies. This must be taken into consideration by the great figures of Islam."
