Creating unity among Muslims; one of the main programs of the Revolution

Sheikh Mostafa Nouri, the Friday Prayer Imam of Galedar, spoke to the Taghrib News Agency, stating: "Imam Khomeini considered unity among Muslims and the oppressed and other Islamic governments as the solution to difficulties. He called upon the leaders of Islamic countries to unite in word against the foreign enemy and said: 'O Muslims of the world and the oppressed under the rule of tyrants, rise up and join hands of unity, defend Islam and your destinies, and do not fear the clamor of the powerful...' (Sahifeh-ye Imam Khomeini, 15/126)."

Sheikh Nouri stated: "He introduced belief in the Quran and monotheism and striving to serve these two as the lofty goals of the gathering of Muslims, and considered the prevailing groupings in the Islamic world to be fundamentally wrong. Imam is among the most distinguished prominent figures who have emphasized the unity and convergence of all Islamic sects and have presented it not merely as a theory and abstract thought, but as a strategic and permanent policy in the governance of the Islamic Republic system."

This Sunni scholar clarified: "Imam Khomeini counted the creation of unity among Muslims as one of the main programs of the Revolution and declared: 'Our program, which is the program of Islam, is the unity of the word of Muslims; it is the unification of Islamic countries; it is brotherhood with all Muslim sects in all parts of the world; it is alliance with all Islamic governments throughout the world.' (Sahifeh-ye Imam Khomeini, 1/336)."

In conclusion, he emphasized: "Imam Khomeini (RA) strove to guide Islamic society from division towards rapprochement, from schism and multiplicity towards unity, and from conflict and hostility towards brotherhood and empathetic coexistence. He said: 'If someone says something that causes division among us Muslims, know that they are either ignorant or among those who want to create discord among Muslims.'"
