Sunni scholar in an interview with TNA:

Iran, as the world's fourth superpower, is on the verge of final victory

Mamosta "Mokhtar Faraji," the prayer leader of the Grand Mosque of Sanandaj, told Taghrib News Agency(TNA): "The vigilant and proud people of Iran, by taking to the streets and squares, foiled the enemy's plot, and today Iran, as the world's fourth superpower, is achieving final victory."
Iran, as the world
According to the Taghrib News Agency, the year 1404 (2025-2026) was a year full of ups and downs for Islamic Iran. Criminal America and the Zionist regime, in an all-out war—part of which became known as the "Twelve-Day War"—relying on advanced equipment and comprehensive support, imagined that they could bring the Islamic Republic to its knees in the shortest possible time. The assassination of nuclear scientists, the martyrdom of the highest-ranking military commanders, the destruction of economic infrastructure, and finally the attempt to martyr the great Leader of the Revolution were the step-by-step scenarios of this war.
But what actually happened was not collapse, but an epic popular uprising that, inspired by the school of Ashura and wise leadership, also thwarted the enemy's "street coup" conspiracy. On the occasion of the first anniversary of this historic event, Taghrib News Agency has arranged an insightful interview with Mamosta "Mokhtar Faraji," a prominent Sunni scholar and prayer leader of the Grand Mosque of Sanandaj. In this interview, he speaks about the hidden dimensions of the Twelve-Day War, the irreplaceable role of national unity, and why Iran has become the world's fourth superpower.

TNA: While honoring the memory of the martyred Imam and the martyrs of the Islamic Revolution, from what perspective do you analyze the Twelve-Day War? What were the enemy's most important goals?

Mamosta Mokhtar Faraji: In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. The year 1404 was a year full of ups and downs. Criminal America and the Zionist regime attacked our sacred Islamic system and our dear country in the Twelve-Day War. These terrorists, in the first stage, while inflicting heavy damage on the economic infrastructure, martyred the country's highest-ranking military commanders and scientists. In the second stage, they also martyred the great Leader of the Islamic Revolution and once again martyred high-ranking military commanders.

TNA: This scenario bears a striking resemblance to Saddam's illusion during the imposed war, when he said he would conquer Tehran in a few days. Had the enemies again fallen into the same mirage?

Mamosta Faraji: Exactly. This was not the first time. During the eight-year Sacred Defense, Saddam of Tikrit said in a speech that his first speech would be in Basra, the second in Isfahan, and the third in Tehran—in his false belief, he wanted to force the system to defeat and surrender within a few days. But thanks be to God and by divine grace, neither in the Twelve-Day War nor in the Forty-Day War did they achieve their evil goals. I said they inflicted losses and damages, but the goals they had planned for themselves—whether in the coup or the street coup—they succeeded in none.

TNA: What was the secret to the enemy's failure? What factor caused the people to create such an epic?

Mamosta Faraji: The vigilant, proud, courageous, and brave people of Islamic Iran, by taking control of the main squares and streets of the cities and their enthusiastic presence, foiled the enemy's plots. This presence continued for about a hundred and several days and still continues. The enemy that wanted to suffocate us with economic, political, and military siege—today we have flourished from within and have flaunted this power and greatness before the enemy. Today, the enemy has been forced to bow its head, respect us, and accept many of our terms and conditions.

TNA: You mentioned that the war continues on various fronts. How do you see the future outlook of the resistance and Iran's position?

Mamosta Faraji: Today, praise be to God, we are reaching a point where, along with the end of the war on all fronts (Lebanon, Yemen, Palestine, and elsewhere), the powerful system of the Islamic Republic is recognized as the world's fourth superpower. This is a great message for the Iranian people. We can compensate for those wounds and losses that were inflicted upon us and, by God's grace, achieve final victory. This pride has been achieved for the sacred system of the Islamic Republic. During the Ramadans of 1404 and 1405, we were able to paralyze the enemy with our own missiles and force him to submit to the will and power of mighty Islamic Iran. The Ramadan War was a war that God ordained to rouse the proud and brave people of Iran, and it introduced the zeal and courage of this nation to the world. We were able to paralyze the enemy's economy, and if they continue, we will deal with their situation even better and more thoroughly, and by God's grace, we will destroy their days.
