At least 50 Palestinians have been wounded in the latest Israeli raided Palestinian homes near the West Bank city of Nablus.

Palestinian Shehab news agency said the injuries took place on Monday after the occupation forces opened fire on the residents of the village of Beita, south of Nablus.

"Fifty injuries resulted from the Beita clashes in the south of Nablus, including eight injuries from live bullets, one of which was serious in the head," Palestinian Red Crescent Emergency and Ambulance Department was quoted as saying by the news agency.

Palestine's official Wafa news agency confirmed the report and cited local sources as saying that the Israeli military raided the village by shooting and sparking confrontations with Palestinians, during which the occupation forces fired live and rubber-coated
steel bullets as well as teargas canisters.

The Israeli forces were also reported to have raided and ransacked a Palestinian house.

Media reports said the clashes came after the occupation forces raided Beita to arrest a suspect in connection with the recent shooting in the Palestinian town of Huwara, where at least two Israeli men were fatally shot in a retaliatory operation by a Palestinian gunman south of Nablus.

The regime's Magen David Adom (MDA) emergency service said on Saturday its paramedics carried out resuscitation efforts on a 29-year-old man and a man in his 60s who were hit by gunfire inside a carwash in Huwara.

Both Israelis were declared dead at the scene shortly afterward.

Israeli forces launch raids on various cities of the West Bank on an almost daily basis under the pretext of detaining what they call “wanted” Palestinians. The raids usually lead to violent confrontations with residents.

More than 200 Palestinians have been killed this year in the occupied Palestinian territories and Gaza. The majority of these fatalities have been recorded in the West Bank. At least 26 people have been killed in Palestinian retaliatory attacks against Israeli settlers during that time.
