90 Palestinian prisoners have been released from Israeli jail on Sunday night as the first part of the ceasefire deal agreed between Hamas resistance and the Israeli regime.

After the hours-long delay, busses carrying Palestinian detainees from occupied al-Quds began making their way out of Ofer Prison.

That followed by other busses carrying liberated Palestinian women and children held in Israeli prison.

Hundreds of people and families of the detainees gathered in Beitunia, west of Ramallah, to welcome their released relatives from Ofer Prison.

Israeli occupation forces declared the area near Ofer Prison a closed military zone, preventing families from gathering. They used rubber-coated metal bullets to disperse the crowd, injuring three people.

In Jerusalem, Israeli forces raided the homes of detainees scheduled for release, warning families against holding any celebrations or public gatherings to welcome their loved ones.

The release of the first batch of prisoners came hours after the Palestinian Resistance released three Israeli female captives, who were being held in the Gaza Strip.

The ceasefire in Gaza officially took effect on Sunday at 11:15 a.m., after a delay of over two and a half hours due to Israel's insistence on receiving a finalized list of female detainees to be released.

Since October 7, 2023, Israeli occupation forces have detained over 25,000 Palestinians, including approximately 14,300 from the West Bank, including Jerusalem, and others from Gaza.

During the same period, 55 detainees have died in Israeli prisons, including 35 from Gaza. The authorities continue to withhold their bodies.

The Israeli aggression, which began in October 2023, has resulted in the killing of at least 46,913 Palestinians in Gaza, including 17,581 children and 12,048 women, with more than 110,750 injured. Approximately 11,000 people remain missing under rubble or on streets.
