More than 150 Israeli settlers, among them the extremist rabbi Yehuda Glik, stormed the al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday through its Maghariba Gate and toured its courtyards, according to the Islamic Awqaf Administration in the holy city.
During their tours at the Islamic holy site, the settlers received lectures from rabbis about the alleged temple mount and a number of them provocatively performed Talmudic prayers.
Meanwhile, the Israeli occupation forces imposed movement and entry restrictions on Muslim worshipers at the Aqsa Mosque’s entrances and gates.
Israeli settlers have frequently broken into the holy Islamic site to perform Talmudic rituals.
The move comes in defiance of an international agreement that bans non-Muslims from performing religious rituals at al-Aqsa Mosque.
