Azmi Abdul Hamid, the president of MAPIM, made the remarks in response to a recent proposal by the American Senator made during an anti-Trump rally, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
He said the efforts by Senator Sanders to take a principled stand must be rooted in historical truth not just political caution.
Azmi Abdul Hamid condemned over 17 years of Israeli tight siege imposed on Palestinians in Gaza stressing that the severe conditions have challenged the Palestinians long before the October 7, 2023.
The Malaysian scholar referred to three full-scale Israeli military assaults against Gaza saying that the massive atrocities have reduced the besieged strip into rubble leaving thousands of casualties, most of them civilians.
Azmi Abdul Hamid said the Israeli regime amplifies the number of October 7 casualties as part of efforts to justify its genocidal war on over 2.3 million Palestinians in Gaza.
He called “Barbarism” as too mild definition for the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza as it manifests pure evil and ethnic cleansing in real time.
MAPIM President noted that justice must begin in 1948-with Nakba- and extend through every massacre, land grab and racist law enforced since then.
