The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that Israeli forces shot and killed 24-year-old Suleiman Fawwaz Manasrah from Qabatiya near the illegal Homesh settlement south of Jenin on Sunday night. His body remains withheld by Israeli forces.
Witnesses reported heavy gunfire before discovering Manasrah’s body near the colony, built on seized land from Silat ad-Dhahr. Earlier, Israeli forces shut down key roads near Jenin and Nablus after an alleged shooting.
Manasrah’s death brings the Palestinian death toll in Jenin governorate since the start of the Israeli onslaught on the city to 39.
Simultaneous raids targeted Fawwar camp and Wadi Abu Katila in Hebron, though details on further arrests remain unclear.
Hundreds of Palestinians, displaced by Israel’s military siege of the Jenin refugee camp in the occupied West Bank, have taken refuge at the Arab American University campus in Jenin, according to AFP news agency.
Furthermore, Israeli forces, accompanied by a bulldozer, raided al-Minya village southeast of Bethlehem on Sunday evening, sealing off the western entrance near a secondary school with earth mounds, according to a local official.
The raid marks an escalation in Israel’s crackdown on the village, which has recently seen increased attacks on farmers and shepherds, as well as confiscation of agricultural products.
Israeli settlers vandalized Palestinian farmlands in the Wadi Qana region near Deir Istiya (northwest of Salfit) on Sunday night, according to local activist Nathmi Salman.
The assailants destroyed agricultural equipment and uprooted olive trees—a recurring tactic in what Salman describes as a broader campaign to forcibly seize Palestinian land and reshape the area.
Since the beginning of the war on Gaza in October 2023, more than 950 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli troops and settlers, and over 7,000 others have been injured in the West Bank.
Israeli forces have dramatically increased the demolition of Palestinian homes and structures across the occupied West Bank, marking one of the most aggressive campaigns in years.
