Gunmen attack in Indian-administered Kashmir kills over two dozen

At least 28 people were killed and 13 others injured as gunmen opened fire on tourists in one of the deadliest attacks targeting Pahalgam in the Indian-administered Kashmir.

According to the local police multiple tourists suffered gunshot wounds as they were visiting Bisaran meadow nearly 5 kilometers from Pahalgam.

Indian Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah called the attack larger than anything directed at civilians in recent years.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attack however the police blamed it on the armed groups.

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi decried the attack as “heinous act” urging that the attackers will be brought to justice.
