Five killed, dozens injured in Israeli targeting of Palestinian aid-seekers in Gaza
At least five Palestinians have been killed and dozens of others injured on Saturday afternoon after Israeli occupation forces opened fire on people seeking aid in Rafah, southern Gaza Strip.

The latest fatalities have increased to 550 the number of Palestinians killed while trying to access food under the present unfair U.S.-Israeli aid distribution mechanism, which has been widely criticized by humanitarian organizations and rejected by the UN.
Since their establishment in late May, these so-called aid corridors have effectively become death traps, where starved civilians are exposed to sniper fire, drone attacks, and other forms of military assault.
Meantime, medical sources reported that the death toll in Gaza since early Saturday has risen to 21, as Israeli attacks on civilians continue unabated across the besieged territory.
The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since October 2023 has so far resulted in at least 56,412 documented Palestinian fatalities, with over 133,054 others injured.
Israel's genocidal attacks continue undeterred despite calls from the UN Security Council for an immediate ceasefire and directives from the International Court of Justice urging measures to prevent genocide and alleviate the dire humanitarian situation in Gaza.
