US, Israel must be prosecuted as war criminals over Iran aggression

Iran’s Prosecutor-General has condemned in strongest terms the recent US-Israeli aggression against the Islamic Republic calling that a flagrant violation of the international laws.

Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Movahhedi, in separate letters to the UN Secretary General Antonio Guterres and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, denounced the US-Israeli atrocities against Iran conducted without any provocation, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
The top official has slammed as a blatant violation of the international human rights the massacre and damage inflicted on the civilians among them women, children and the elderly as well as the indiscriminate violent attacks targeting the civil centers including hospitals, residential buildings, media centers (Iran’s state broadcasting IRIB), sports centers, prison, nuclear facilities and also the oil and petroleum facilities.
 
He demanded that the two states, United States and Israel, be prosecuted as war criminals.
 
The Prosecutor-General reiterated that the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear programs has been verified by the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) following multiple observations carried out by the world body to Iran’s nuclear facilities.
 
Hujjat-ul-Islam Movahhedi called on the UN Secretary General and the UN Security Council to condemn the US-Israeli attacks on Iranian civilians and the civil infrastructure particularly the nuclear facilities.
 
He said the “Zionist” Israeli regime and its allies should be held fully responsible for the clear violation of the international law demanding measures to compensate the inflicted damages and a guarantee that such moves will not be made again.
