Iran mulls ways to boost Islamic unity in face of global threats
Iran’s Cooperation Council of Islamic Promotion has stressed the plans to boost solidarity among Muslims and interfaith relations concurrent with the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).

Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hussein Pourmoosa, made the remarks in a decree to appoint Hujjat-ul-Islam Mohammad Hassan Akhtari as the chairman of the center to commemorate Islamic unity week, reported Taqrib News agency (TNA).
The representative of the Leader in Coordination Council of the Islamic Promotion urged Hujjat-ul-Islam Akhtari to center endeavors on explaining the theory of Islamic unity based on the latest national, regional and international developments and maintain solidarity among the Islamic nation in face of the threats and the political and media crises.
Hujjat-ul-Islam Pourmoosa called, in his decree, for innovative approaches for cultural and scientific programs with cooperation of the Iranian and international organizations.
The decree was issued ahead of the Islamic Unity Week as people in Iran and Muslims across the globe are preparing to mark the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
Iran has recognized the week as Islamic Unity Week as a way to strengthen solidarity among the Shia and Sunni community, two main Islamic denominations.
This year the world Muslims will mark the 1500th birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad (PBUH).
