Oman Mufti calls for end to Israel’s looting of humanitarian aid in Gaza

The grand mufti of Oman has called on the Muslim countries and the international community to end the Israeli looting of the humanitarian aid sent for Palestinians in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Ahmad bin Hamad al-Khalili has condemned in strongest terms the inaction of the international community regarding the Israeli blockade of humanitarian aid reach Gaza, reported Taghrib News Agency (TNA).
 
In a post on his X account, the grand mufti urged the international organizations to protect the aid sent to Gaza against those who loot and sell the aid at high prices.
 
Georgios Petropoulos, head for the UN Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in Gaza earlier expressed concern over the increasing looting of the aid in Gaza with majority of the trucks crossing into Rafah stolen.
 
UN officials say the looting are systematically carried out by armed groups who are recently targeting the fuel tankers too.
 
More than two million people in Gaza are suffering starvation as the Israeli regime has imposed total blockade on Gaza in early March. More than 170 people have lost their lives as a result of the blockade and famine in the besieged strip.
