On the day honoring journalists, Hojatoleslam Khorshidi referred to media as the "architect of public opinion" in his interview with Taghrib News Agency. He stated that a committed and aware media can transcend geographical, religious, and ethnic borders and provide a platform for shared thought and coexistence. In this context, he said, a journalist is not merely a conveyor of news, but a designer of the future.
He praised the performance of Taghrib News Agency, adding that "Taghrib is more than a news agency; it is a socio-cultural institution that, with a supra-denominational approach, has been able to bring the discourse of unity from the margins to the mainstream. This media has functioned as a media university by producing analytical content, holding elite dialogues, and covering unifying events."
The Friday Prayer Leader of Bijar emphasized the necessity of confronting extremist and divisive movements, stating: "In a world where media can start a war or establish peace, news agencies like Taghrib, by relying on religious rationality and professional ethics, play the role of the cultural shield of the Islamic nation. This media, by avoiding hype and superficiality, delves into the depths of issues and invites its audience to contemplation and shared thought."
He also referred to the strategic role of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, stating: "The Forum, with a civilizational and forward-looking perspective, has been able to turn media into a tool for rapprochement. Its effective measures in strengthening Islamic unity include supporting committed journalists, training intellectual forces, and creating a network of aligned media."
In conclusion, Hojatoleslam Khorshidi honored journalists in the field of rapprochement, noting: "Journalist's Day is an opportunity to redefine the mission of media in the Islamic world. Journalists who walk the path of rapprochement are not only the guardians of truth but also the architects of solidarity. We hope that by continuing on this path, unifying media can serve as a guiding light for the unified nation against the waves of division."
