IRGC: Targeting Journalists in Gaza Is an Assault on Freedom of Expression and Human Values

According to Taghrib News Agency, the IRGC’s statement reads:
“The recent crime by the Zionist regime in targeting journalists and media professionals in Gaza—especially the martyrdom of six courageous, selfless, and frontline journalists who voiced the suffering of men, women, and children in the region, including Anas Al-Sharif—is a direct assault on human values and freedom of speech. This cruel act not only violates human rights but also undermines the right of nations to know the truth.”
“In today’s cognitive warfare, journalists stand against lies and distortions with their pens and cameras, bearing the great responsibility of conveying awareness to humanity.”
“The racist and predatory Zionist regime, which has always sought to silence the voice of truth, has once again shown—through this crime—that it will stop at nothing to conceal its medieval atrocities and its inhumane, savage nature. Targeting journalists in the heart of conflict zones, especially Gaza, is essentially a shot fired at freedom and a crime aimed at imposing ‘media silence’ and denying reality.”
“This vile and criminal regime, through the assassination of journalists and media professionals, seeks to obstruct the path of truth-telling and awareness, and to hide the bitter reality of its crimes in heroic and oppressed Gaza.”

“At a time when the Islamic Republic of Iran is honoring ‘Journalist Day’ with pride and admiration for media professionals, the martyrdom of six valiant journalists in Gaza not only reflects their bravery and sacrifice in the pursuit of truth, but also highlights the vital role of journalists in enlightening the world. These dear martyrs, through their blood, not only amplified the voice of Gaza’s oppressed but also sent a powerful and meaningful message to the world: one must never remain silent in the face of oppression and crime.”
“The IRGC Public Relations Office, while condemning this heinous crime and honoring the memory and heroism of the 237 journalists who have stood in defense of Gaza’s resistance and righteousness since the beginning of Operation Al-Aqsa Flood, reaffirms that freedom-seeking and truth-loving media professionals will stand by the Palestinian people until the liberation of Al-Quds. It calls on all nations and global communities—especially organizations claiming to defend human rights and media freedom—not to remain silent in the face of these atrocities, and to demand an end to these crimes and accountability for those responsible for targeting journalists in Gaza.”
