In a meeting on Monday attended by Muslim women as part of the event, female scholars from across the Islamic world released a statement condemning the silence of many Islamic governments regarding the crisis in the Gaza Strip.
They warned that ignoring injustice will not bring safety, but instead will make these governments more submissive to foreign interests.
The statement described how Israeli attacks have grown more aggressive over the past two years, spreading beyond Gaza to places like the West Bank, southern Lebanon, Sana’a in Yemen, and even cities in Iran.
The conference also honored Iranian women who endured a 12-day war imposed by Israel against Iran, praising their patience and bravery.
“Their actions were seen as a powerful example of sacrifice and strength in the face of hardship.”
In response to the lack of action from Islamic governments, the participants called for urgent humanitarian aid to Gaza, especially clean water and food for children and women.
They urged that this becomes a top priority for all Islamic nations. They also demanded a full boycott of Israel, including a ban on all trade and economic ties.
The statement expressed deep appreciation for civil society groups, journalists, and especially women’s rights activists—both Muslim and non-Muslim—who have stood with Gaza.
Their efforts, including large protests and awareness campaigns, were praised for helping bring global attention to the suffering of Palestinians.
The final message from the summit was clear: Gaza’s fate is tied to the future of all Muslim nations. If governments continue to stay silent, the pain now felt in Palestine will eventually reach others across the region.
