Iran’s Shia, Sunni community strived for their country

A member of Iran’s Assembly of Experts has lauded the role of the nation, from all Islamic denominations, for honor of their religion, country.
 


Mamusta Eqbal Bahmani, in his speech at a meeting of Iran’s Foreign Ministry officials held in the sideline of the 39th Islamic Unity Conference, called the meeting a ‘precious opportunity’ that the Shia and Sunni scholars exchange views, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Emphasizing the need for unity among Muslims, he cited the views of Islamic elders and noted: Imam Shafi'i considered the love for the Prophet's (PBUH) family to be the axis of unity for the Islamic nation.
 
He quoted Imam Ja'far al-Sadiq (PBUH), the sixth Shia Imam, saying that praying behind Sunni imams is like praying behind the Holy Prophet (PBUH).
 
Mamusta Bahmani highlighted the role of the Sunni community in victory of the Islamic Revoilution and noted,” Enemies intended to introduce the Islamic Revolution as an uprising of the Shias while more than 10,000 Sunni martyrs have sacrificed their life for the sake of Islamic Republic. 
 
The prominent Iranian scholar also enumerated the services that the Islamic Revolution provided regarding the Sunni community in Iran among them launching a specialized center for Sunni Fiq’h, providing education for more than 10,000 Sunni seminary students and also allocating five seats at the Assembly of Experts to the Sunni representatives.
 
The representative of the Kurdistan province called for efforts to boost Islamic solidarity among Iranians and concluded,” The Islamic Republic belongs to all Muslims across the country as Shia and Sunnis have endeavored for the system.”
