Mohammad Ali Azarshab, senior advisor to the Secretary-General of the World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought, says that enmity, hatred, and corruption are the threats to global security and peace.
Azarshab made comments in a webinar, as part of the 39th International Islamic Unity Conference, on Wednesday.
He highlighted Islam’s transformative vision of humanity, stating that the religion seeks to foster shared human and spiritual values across all nations.
“Islam introduced a new image of the human being,” he said, “and it calls for unity through common ground.”
He urged that dialogue between communities must be rooted in wisdom, kind counsel, and the most effective methods of persuasion.
Quoting the Qur'an, he warned against those who speak eloquently yet harbor hostility in their hearts, contrasting them with those who sacrifice themselves sincerely for divine satisfaction.
Azarshab concluded by reflecting on one of Islam’s greatest blessings: the transformation of hostility into brotherhood and the establishment of security after fear.
