“Have they achieved their goals?” Putin asked rhetorically. “I think it’s clear to everyone here that these efforts have completely failed.”

Addressing the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, Putin called the situation “a horrifying event in modern human history,” and reiterated Russia’s support for peaceful initiatives that lead to the establishment of two sovereign states. He suggested that transferring control of Gaza to Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas could be a viable option, but stressed the importance of understanding Palestinian perspectives on any proposed solutions.
Putin also criticized the broader liberal world order, arguing that it has failed to resolve global challenges and instead created new ones. He described the current shift toward a multipolar world as inevitable, stating that “no single power can govern the entire globe or dictate how others should live.”
The Russian president revealed that Moscow had twice expressed interest in joining NATO—once in 1954 and again in 2000—but was rejected both times. He claimed that if NATO had not expanded toward Russia’s borders, or if Donald Trump had been U.S. president in 2022, the war in Ukraine might have been avoided.
Putin concluded by asserting that Russia remains a vital force for global balance and warned that any further militarization of Europe would be met with a “decisive and convincing” response from Moscow.
