Malaysian Islamic Advisory Council Backs Iranian President’s Call for Muslim Unity

Division Among Muslims Serves Global Zionism, Says MAPIM
Malaysian Islamic Advisory Council Backs Iranian President’s Call for Muslim Unity
In its statement, MAPIM affirmed that President Pezeshkian’s message reflects a long-standing truth: disunity has been exploited to weaken the moral and strategic standing of Muslim nations.
Key Points from MAPIM’s Statement:
1. Division: A Weapon of the Enemy
MAPIM acknowledged that the inability of Muslim nations to act in unison—from Palestine to Yemen, Kashmir to Sudan—has allowed foreign powers, led by the Zionist regime and its Western allies, to dictate the political and economic fate of Muslim lands.
The statement emphasized that internal divisions have enabled Israel to continue its assault on Gaza without facing consequences. “Silence, hesitation, and fragmentation are the very tools that sustain Zionist power,” it read.
2. Unity: A Strategic Imperative
MAPIM stressed that unity must go beyond rhetoric. President Pezeshkian’s call is a timely reminder that solidarity should translate into practical cooperation in diplomacy, economics, defense, education, and humanitarian action.
“Unity does not mean uniformity,” the statement said, “but a conscious alignment of moral and strategic goals to resist injustice and defend human dignity.”
MAPIM interpreted the Qur’anic concept of “holding fast to the rope of Allah” as not only a spiritual directive but a collective responsibility rooted in justice.
3. Zionist Agenda: Division, Distraction, Domination
The council warned that the global Zionist strategy thrives on internal discord—sectarian conflict, political rivalry, and cultural alienation. By keeping Muslim societies preoccupied with internal disputes, Zionism ensures that no united front can challenge its ongoing occupation and oppression in Palestine.
MAPIM fully supported President Pezeshkian’s assertion that rebuilding Islamic brotherhood is not optional but a matter of existential necessity.
4. Malaysia’s Role and the Path Forward
As a respected voice in the Islamic world, Malaysia must continue to champion unity through diplomacy, education, and humanitarian leadership.
MAPIM highlighted its initiatives such as the Global Mosque Alliance for Al-Aqsa (MANAR), the Global Coalition for Jerusalem and Palestine (GCJP), and the Samud Malaya humanitarian mission as examples of ethical solidarity in action.
The council called for: An emergency summit of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) to address Muslim unity in the face of Zionist aggression. Strengthened economic cooperation among Muslim nations to reduce dependence on Western systems. Coordinated humanitarian efforts for Gaza and other conflict zones under a unified Muslim relief platform.
MAPIM endorsed President Pezeshkian’s bold message: “Muslim division is Zionism’s victory.”
The council urged the Ummah to reject narrow nationalism, sectarian bias, and political rivalry, and to rediscover the spirit of brotherhood, justice, and shared destiny. “Only through unity in faith and action can we resist oppression, restore dignity, and rebuild the strength of our civilization.”
President Pezeshkian made the remarks during a Thursday meeting with scholars and clerics in Iran’s Kurdistan province, emphasizing that division among Muslims is a longstanding goal of global Zionism and imperialism.
