Malaysia’s former minister of Religious Affairs has urged for supports for Palestine beyond slogans calling on all to assist Palestinians with humanitarian, diplomatic and media mobilization.

Mujahid Yusof Rawa, speaking at the international conference on ‘Islamic Unity and Palestine’ held in the Malaysian capital, Kuala Lumpur on January 20, said disunity of the Islamic nation as the key factor behind shortcomings in support of Palestine objective, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
Referring to the Qur’anic concept of ummah as a coherent society, Mujahid Yusof Rawa warned against the present disunity among Muslims and weakening of the collective competence of Muslims, being in contrast with the Islamic teachings.
 
He called Palestine not only as a symbol of resistance but also a mirror that displays the moral and political conditions in the Islamic ummah.
 
He emphasized that incapability in defending Palestine stands for a strategic paralysis caused by disunity in the Islamic nation.
 
Malaysian former minister reiterated that the emotional empathy must be transformed into an organized and strategic measure.
 
According to Mujahid Yusof Rawa, the support for Palestine must go beyond slogans and be channeled in humanitarian, diplomatic, public mobilization and media support for the Palestinians.
 
He underlined Malaysia’s firm stance in support of Palestine calling that an instance of moral leadership based on values.
 
Malaysia’s former official made the remarks at the regional pro-Palestine Islamic unity conference was co-organized by Iran’s World Forum for Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought and the Malaysian Consultative Council of Islamic Organization (MAPIM).
 
More than 150 Muslim thinkers, religious figures and intellectuals from across the globe attended the conference.
