Jasem Al‑Budaiwi, Secretary‑General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC), welcomed the new round of indirect negotiations between Iran and the United States held in Oman, expressing hope that the outcome of these talks would contribute to preserving stability and security in the region.

According to Kuwait’s Al‑Jarida newspaper on Saturday, Al‑Budaiwi described Oman’s hosting of the talks as a valuable step that reflects Muscat’s constructive role in supporting regional and international dialogue and understanding.
He also expressed hope that these consultations would lead to positive results that strengthen calm, reinforce the foundations of security and stability in the region, serve shared interests, and help consolidate an environment conducive to cooperation and development.
The PGCC Secretary‑General praised Oman’s continuous and significant efforts—carried out in coordination with several brotherly and friendly countries—to bring the views of both sides closer and create the right atmosphere for constructive dialogue.
He reaffirmed the commitment of PGCC member states to safeguarding regional security and stability and supporting the prosperity of their peoples.
The new round of Iran–U.S. nuclear talks was held on Friday, 6 February 2026 (17 Bahman 1404) in Muscat, following the 12‑day war. In this round of indirect negotiations, the Iranian and American delegations exchanged a set of views, considerations, and approaches through Oman’s Foreign Minister Badr Al‑Busaidi.
