Haidar Rahim, an executive at the Imam Ali (AS) shrine, said the invitation follows a recommendation by the senior Iraqi Shia jurist, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Sistani, to show solidarity with the Iranian people after the US–Israeli attacks against the country, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).

He added that the Imam Ali (AS) shrine has carried out several cultural and social programs inside Iran as part of its efforts to express solidarity with the Iranian people.

Warmly welcomed by the staff and custodians of the Imam Hussein (AS) shrine, the families of the Minab attack martyrs visited the holy shrine of the third Shia Imam in early May.

The invitation to visit the holy site is intended to offer sympathy to the bereaved families who lost loved ones in the US attack on an elementary school in southern Iran.

On February 28, the US launched a missile strike against Shajareye Tayyebeh Elementary School in Minab County, Hormozgan Province, killing 168 people, most of them schoolchildren and teachers.
