Israeli-American Expert:

Eliminating Jordan's Custodianship of Al-Aqsa Mosque will push the region towards explosion

A prominent Israeli-American lawyer warned that any joint US-Zionist regime plan to cancel Jordan's custodianship of Al-Aqsa Mosque could lead to a widespread wave of violence and instability in the Middle East region.
Eliminating Jordan
According to the Taghrib News Agency, Daniel Seidemann, an expert on Israeli affairs and founder of the non-governmental organization "Terrestrial Quds" which monitors Zionist regime settlement activities in occupied Jerusalem, emphasized in an interview with Middle East Eye: "What starts in Jerusalem doesn't stay in Jerusalem."

He added: "Any change to the current status of Al-Aqsa Mosque will provoke widespread reactions throughout the Arab and Islamic world."

Seidemann, who is considered one of the most recognized experts on Jerusalem and its holy sites, confirmed the exclusive Middle East Eye report about the existence of an American-Israeli plan to end Jordan's custodianship of Al-Aqsa Mosque and turn it into a "multi-faith center."

Referring to the special sensitivity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, he said: "When handled appropriately, Al-Aqsa is quite stable. But when its complexities are ignored, it becomes one of the most dangerous places on the planet." He also stated that Jordan's custodianship plays an essential and irreplaceable role in maintaining stability and calm at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

According to the report, a number of American, Jordanian, and Palestinian officials, along with Western and Arab sources, revealed last month that a plan supported by "Kushner," the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump, seeks to end the authority of the Jordanian-backed Islamic Waqf and establish a new body under the supervision of the Zionist regime that would introduce Al-Aqsa Mosque as a "multi-faith center."

According to these sources, the proposed new structure would provide equal access for Jews to this Islamic holy site and pave the way for the formal holding of mass Jewish prayers in the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Seidemann also wrote on the social network X: "We have heard from a reliable source that there is indeed a US proposal to replace/annul Jordanian custodianship over Al Aqsa."

"We have been told that a document has been circulated proposing to replace Jordanian custodianship with that of a consortium of international/interfaith parties, including Muslim/Arab and Jewish representatives," he added.

Bahrain, Egypt, Morocco, and the UAE have been briefed on the US proposal, while Saudi Arabia is opposed to the plan and supports maintaining Jordan's custodianship.

In response, a US official issued a statement calling the report "totally false" and denying any White House effort to end Jordan's custodianship.
