Cairo and Islamabad Express Hope for Constructive Results in Iran-US Negotiations

The Foreign Ministers of Pakistan and Egypt, while welcoming what they called a positive movement in ongoing diplomatic efforts, expressed hope that early and constructive results in the ongoing engagement between Iran and the United States would contribute to lasting peace and stability in the region.

The spokesperson's office of Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced today that Senator Muhammad Ishaq Dar, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan, held a telephone conversation with his Egyptian counterpart, Badr Abdelatty.
 
These consultations are taking place in continuation of Islamabad's diplomatic movements aimed at advancing the mediation process. Ishaq Dar has previously spoken with his Swiss and Turkish counterparts, as well as the European Union's foreign policy chief, regarding developments related to Iran and the United States.
 
Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said today: "Ishaq Dar and Badr Abdelatty discussed the latest regional developments and welcomed the positive movement in ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting regional peace and stability."
 
They expressed hope that an early and constructive result would be achieved in the ongoing engagement between the United States and Iran, contributing to lasting peace and stability in the region.
 
"Shahbaz Sharif," the Prime Minister of Pakistan, wrote in a message on the X social media platform on Friday night, June 12, 2026: "Amidst Pakistan's increased mediation efforts, we are fully aware of the relentless disinformation campaign by elements who want to sabotage the peace agreement."
 
He added: "We can confirm that the final and mutually agreed text for peace has been reached, and Pakistan is now working closely with both sides to finalize the next steps."
 
Shahbaz Sharif emphasized: "Peace has never been this close."
