Tehran at the center of global diplomacy; widespread presence of int’l delegations at the funeral ceremony of the martyred leader

As Tehran hosted high-ranking delegations from nearly 100 countries around the world to pay tribute to the body of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the late leader of Iran, the significant presence of representatives from Arab countries, regional powers, and leaders of the Resistance Axis conveyed important political messages amid ongoing tensions.

Delegations from nearly 100 countries, including heads of state and parliamentary representatives, participated in the first day of the funeral ceremony for Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, the late leader of the Islamic Revolution of Iran.
 
Notably, representatives from a large number of Arab countries, including Qatar, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Oman, Iraq, Lebanon, Tunisia, and Algeria, were present at the ceremony. This event was perceived as a positive development that could later influence the rebuilding of Arab-Iran relations, especially for neighboring countries affected by the US-Iran conflict at security and economic levels.
 
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent his personal representative, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of Russia's Security Council, at the head of a Russian delegation.
 
Pakistan's Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Army Chief Asim Munir were also present at the ceremony to pay tribute to the martyred leader. Pakistan, along with Qatar, had undertaken mediation efforts between Iran and the United States.
 
Also present at the ceremony were Lebanon's Hezbollah, the Palestinian Hamas and Islamic Jihad movements, and Yemen's Ansarullah movement.
 
The first day of the funeral ceremony in Tehran was dedicated to official Arab and international delegations at the Tehran Grand Prayer Grounds (Mosalla). The delegations entered in order and paid their respects to the pure body of the martyred leader and his family.
