Leader’s envoy offers condolences over martyrdom of Sunni prayer leader of Mirjaveh

The representative of the Leader of Islamic Revolution for Sunni affairs in Sistan and Baluchistan has expressed condolences after the Sunni prayer leader of Mirjaveh was martyred in an assassination attack on Monday.

Following the incident, Hujjat-ul-Islam Mostafa Mohami, issued a message condemning the assassination and offering condolences to the Sunni community and bereaved people in Sistan and Baluchistan province, reported Taqrib News Agency (TNA).
 
"I received with profound sorrow the news of the martyrdom of Molavi Mohammad Anwar Rigi, the Sunni Friday prayer leader of Mirjaveh, following a cowardly attack by terrorist elements," Mohami said in his statement.
 
He extended his condolences to the martyred scholar’s family, the community of Sunni scholars, and the people of Sistan and Baluchestan, while praying for the elevation of the cleric's rank and for patience and strength for his bereaved relatives.
 
Molavi Mohammad Anwar Rigi, the Sunni Friday prayer leader of Ali ibn Abi Talib Mosque in Mirjaveh, in Iran's southeastern province of Sistan and Baluchestan, was martyred in a terrorist attack early Monday, prompting condolences from senior officials and religious figures.
 
According to local reports, unidentified assailants targeted Molavi Rigi at around 4:00 a.m. local time on Monday (July 20). No group has immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
 
The assassination of the prominent Sunni cleric has drawn widespread condemnation, with officials describing the attack as an act of terrorism aimed at undermining security and unity in the province.
