Iranian Cleric: Enemies like the U.S. and Zionism are never trustworthy

According to Taghrib News Agency(TNA), Ghasemkhani referred to the ceasefire between Hamas and the Zionist regime and recalled: “On October 8, 2023—730 days ago—Netanyahu declared three goals for the war: the complete destruction of Hamas, the release of all captives through military action, and the forced displacement of Palestinians to empty Gaza so that no one from Gaza could threaten Israel.”

He emphasized: “Netanyahu said, ‘We will go all the way and nothing will stop us.’ Yet after two years of support from the world’s military powers, not a single goal was achieved.”
The cleric added: “Netanyahu and the West know that killing women and children is never a legitimate goal. Even the smallest armies—or armed thugs—can kill civilians. That’s why the Supreme Leader has repeatedly stated that such acts are not victories. The fact that Israel failed to achieve even one of its declared objectives is nothing short of a divine miracle made possible by the resistance.”
Ghasemkhani continued: “Hamas, in defense of its people, made the withdrawal of Israeli forces a condition for the ceasefire. For every living Israeli captive, 100 Palestinian fighters will be released. Weapons remain in the hands of Hamas, and the treacherous Arab allies of Israel will remain disgraced and discredited for years.”
He added: “Despite its military superiority, the Zionist regime fell into a trap. Its failure to destroy the resistance or force its surrender—despite enormous human and political costs—marks a historic defeat.”
The Friday prayer leader of Khoy stated: “Continued conflict led to the erosion of legitimacy, international isolation, and internal security collapse for the occupying regime. These factors forced the Zionists to accept an agreement that ended the war and led to their withdrawal from Gaza.”
He stressed: “Undoubtedly, this agreement is not just a temporary ceasefire—it is a confirmation of the superiority of the people’s will, who fight for freedom against an occupying regime.”
Ghasemkhani concluded: “The most important lesson from this event is that even if all the world’s military power is concentrated in one place, it will retreat in the face of the will and faith of a people who stand firm in a narrow strip of land with no resources. Resistance triumphed by not being defeated, and the occupying regime failed by not winning. This marks a new chapter of hope for all resistance fronts in the region. Still, Hamas and the resistance must remain vigilant, for enemies like the U.S. and Zionism are never to be trusted.”
