Sunni Cleric:

Main Goal of Enemies Is to Eliminate Islam from Political, Social Arena

He emphasized that all Muslims—Sunni and Shia alike—are guided by the same source, Islam, and are equal stakeholders in this country. “No one has the right to accuse others of being outsiders,” he said.
Main Goal of Enemies Is to Eliminate Islam from Political, Social Arena
Speaking at a provincial summit of prominent Friday prayer leaders focused on the Supreme Leader’s seven-point directive during the 12-day war, Mamusta Azizian stressed the importance of both personal and societal reform.
“True reform must begin from within,” he said, urging people to be mindful of their thoughts and to refrain from defaming one another in public forums and on social media.
He warned that mutual humiliation weakens the foundations of society and criticized certain domestic media outlets for openly targeting religious figures. “Such public defamation is unacceptable, especially when enemies of religion and the clergy exploit these divisions to undermine leadership and faith,” he said.
Spiritual Security and Social Harmony
Mamusta Azizian outlined steps toward achieving spiritual and intellectual security, beginning with reducing societal tensions and fostering sincerity. “We must inject mental, intellectual, and spiritual security into our communities,” he said, adding that infiltrators seeking to incite hostility against Islam and its scholars must be identified.
He emphasized that the goal should not be material surgery, but spiritual transformation—one that penetrates the human heart and corrects corrupt beliefs. “This is only possible if spirituality is not held hostage by fruitless debates and arguments,” he noted.
Unity Despite Differences
Azizian asserted that success in political, military, social, and religious arenas is achievable despite differing opinions—provided there is a unified strategy that includes everyone. He warned that global arrogance seeks to reduce Islam to a “meta-religion” with no role in governance or public life.
He added, “If the structure of governance and leadership were not supported by the clergy and the Supreme Leader, this system would have collapsed under today’s psychological warfare and threats.”
Shared Identity and Post-Victory Strategy
Reiterating his central message, Mamosta Azizian said, “The ultimate goal of the enemies is to colonize our country and erase Islam from the political, social, and global stage.” He emphasized that all Muslims are guided by Islam and share ownership of their homeland.
He concluded by stating that military victory is not the ultimate goal but a means to a greater end. “War is only half the equation—the other half is the intelligent management of post-victory realities. Without a doubt, we are witnessing the prelude to achieving higher goals in the sacred land of Palestine.”
