Palestinian detainee advocacy organizations reported that Israeli occupation forces detained at least 540 Palestinians in the occupied West Bank, including Quds, during the month of August 2025. Among those detained were 49 children and 19 women.
In a statement released yesterday, the commission noted that among the detainees were 17 women and 60 children, adding that intensified field interrogations targeted hundreds of Palestinians.
In the town of Anata, northeast of Jerusalem, nine Palestinians were detained following home raids conducted by Israeli occupation forces. Residents reported that homes were searched extensively during the early morning attack, causing significant disruptions.
The detentions, which occurred between Saturday night and Sunday morning, took place in several districts, including Hebron, Ramallah, Qalqilya, Tulkarm, Salfit, and Jerusalem.
Local sources reported that a large contingent of Israeli troops carried out extensive raids across various neighborhoods in Qalqilya. The forces broke into homes and residential buildings, conducted searches, and assaulted some residents. Several Palestinians were subsequently detained.
In a joint statement released today, the two organizations detailed that these detentions include individuals taken from their homes, at military checkpoints, those who surrendered under pressure, and others who were taken hostage.
The institutions, which included the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS), the Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission and the Ramallah-based Addameer; the Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, said the occupation detained 258 women, including women from the 1948-occupied land and women from Gaza who were detained in the West Bank.
