Iran has marked the National Ferdowsi Day on Thursday paying tribute to the giant Persian poet Abolqasem Ferdowsi, known for his masterpiece Shahnameh.

People in Iran’s city of Shiraz, mark the birth anniversary of eminent 13th-century Persian poet Saadi Shirazi on April 21. The event is an opportunity to recall the essence of human existence narrated in many of his works, and opens a new window to human life.
